When writing to promote your products and services, does it come naturally to you or do you sometimes suffer from writer’s block? I have had both happen to me.  Sometimes it just flows and other times I am staring at a blank canvas for way too long.

Here is a little tip that has helped me. Besides jotting down notes in my journal about possible copy points, I now focus on writing in the mornings, when I am most productive fueled by some strong Italian brew.

So let’s talk about how you can write compelling copy for your Facebook ad that really engages your readers and entices them to take the desired action.

One of the key ingredients of a successful Facebook ad that converts, meaning your audience clicks through to your website or landing page, is attention grabbing copy.

Facebook has this really nifty tool called the POWER EDITOR, you can find it here.

One of the advantages of using this tool is that it actually allows you to put as much copy as you would like in the post that accompanies your ad.  This way you can really tell your story.

But here is the thing. Studies have shown that people now make a decision in just 3 seconds if they stay on your page/post or click over.  That means your copy points that are visible before the “SEE MORE” section have to be

Engaging, irresistible and actionable.

If not you lose your audience.

Example

Here is an example. The most important points are covered before my viewers have to click “See More”.
When you create your Facebook Ad post, put your most powerful points in the first couple of sentences, so you captivate and entice your viewers to click “SEE MORE” and read your entire message.

This is also called THE HOOK, the promise of your ad that immediately tells your audience the benefit, meaning what is in it for them.

The formula is pretty simple:

THE HOOK
