If not, start considering it.
It’s a crowded space out there and it is increasingly getting more difficult to break through the clutter when marketing your products and services online.
The average attention span on the web is now down to 3 seconds, so you need to ensure you capture your audience right away before they scroll down on their Facebook feed or click away from your website.
A great tool to disrupt the same old, same old is using video content.
Think about it for a moment.
People buy from those who they know and trust.
So unless you are already very established in your industry, your prospective clients don’t yet know and trust you and it is up to you to overcome that hurdle.
What better way than using a short video to introduce yourself to your audience, tell them a little about you, what it is you do and offer them value. This could be in the form of giving something away for free or sharing advice on a particular subject pertaining to your field. This way your audience gets to know you and what you stand for. They are connecting with you on a deeper level and through engaging with them consistently offering value, they will eventually come to trust you as an expert in your field.
Think about it as building a relationship with your prospective clients.
These days it is more and more about building your audience first and creating your offer later.
Don’t have a professional videographer on stand by? No worries you can easily do this by yourself with your iPhone or enlist a friend to tape you. And the iMovie app (VidTrim for Android) lets you customize your videos through themes, filters, adding effects and making small edits.
A FEW TIPS FOR POSTING VIDEOS ON FACEBOOK
-Keep your video content short and engaging.
-Evoke emotion, inspire, go for something unique or, if appropriate be funny. This makes your content more shareable.
-Upload your video directly to Facebook.
(It will get seen by more people than if you share a YouTube link.)
–Add a call to action such as Learn More, Book Here, Shop Here, that takes viewers right to your website where they can complete the action you would like them to take.
Now I know some of us get a little bit jittery about putting ourselves out there and it not being 100% perfect. Keep in mind, we all start from right where we are at. There is a time for planning and strategizing and then there comes a time when we need to actually pull the trigger.
I invite you to curb that inner perfectionist, seize the moment and put yourself out there!
Done is better than perfect!
as my coach always reminds me.
By the way have you ever seen Marie Forleo’s videos? While they are very well produced, she uses outtakes and bloopers as a gimmick to let her quirkiness shine through and her audience loves it because she is authentic.
So just be yourself and have fun with it!
Much Love,
