It’s been a tough week for all of us witnessing the heartbreak of what happened in Las Vegas unfold. I can’t make sense of it and to tell you the truth I’ve been avoiding watching TV…

When I first heard the news, I reached out to my friends and colleagues who live in the area and I can’t tell you the relief I felt when they responded to my messages. I learned that two of my teachers from my NLP Practitioner course were there facilitating this very same training I attended in March. Both are safe, thankfully.

And I remember a former co-worker of mine. He moved to Las Vegas last year because his wife had gotten a job there. I haven’t heard from him and I hope he and his family are ok.

And now another tropical storm is brewing in the Caribbean and this time Cancun (I live 45 minutes south from there) is its path. The experts say it will be here on Friday and they are not sure yet if it’s going to pass as a tropical storm or a hurricane.

I have no idea what to expect but it made one thing very clear to me.

All the small stuff that I’m worried about doesn’t matter considering events of this magnitude.

LIFE IS SHORT, we never know when it’s our turn, when we find ourselves at the wrong place at the wrong time.

But I know one thing for sure.

You and me, we came here with a purpose and it is our mission in this lifetime to fulfill this purpose.

Maybe you’ve been wondering about what is your purpose.

It’s the dream that you have inside of you that is yearning to seek expression, that feeling of wanting more from life than what’s you current reality.

Maybe you already know your purpose but something is holding you back to step fully into it and live it.

Maybe it’s thoughts like

I’m not good enough.

Who am I to do this?

I’m not confident enough to do this.

What if it doesn’t work and people start ridiculing me for it?

I can’t do this unless it’s perfect.

What are people going to think about me if I do …?

It’ s not a good time now.

I don’t have the money to do it.

I would love to but I can’t because….

In times like these you are called to step forward and illuminate the world with your gift.

You must do this despite any fears and hesitations that might come up for you. It’s time to be the leader that you know you are and shine your light brightly to lift others up and show them the way.

I’ve done something today that I haven’t done since I was six years old (!).

I prayed with a pastor and no, I did not go to church.

I was on my rooftop and started a conversation with a woman who is visiting. Turns out she is the pastor of a large congregation in Connecticut. (There are no coincidences in life, we were meant to meet today.)

We talked about the sorrow we both felt about what happened in Las Vegas, the recent earthquakes and hurricanes and how we could not make sense of it. She shared how she thought it was a wakeup call from God for us to rise up and live our life the RIGHT WAY.

Before I knew it, we sat down on the lounge chairs and Nancy (that’s her name) grabbed my hands and we prayed. And you know what, it felt good to let go of it all. I was so thankful for our conversation and it made me think that NOW truly is the time for us to step forward.

Despite whatever is holding you back if you have a dream deep down inside, if you feel a calling, NOW is the time to boldly step into it, even if it makes you feel uncomfortable. (That is a strong indication that you’re on the right path. The world needs your gift and it’s time for you to start creating your legacy by living your purpose.

They say in the end we only regret the things we did not do.

And there comes a time when we cannot change this anymore.

I can’t imagine if I had been at this concert and it was my turn. I’m thinking about the regret I would have felt in those moments for not having completed my mission in this lifetime because I let what other people think of me hold me back (and that has happened in the past.)

If you’re struggling with fully stepping into your purpose, or have a sense that if you could just overcome this one obstacle that’s holding you back, you’d be on your way, I’d love for you to leave me a comment below.
